ESN Salerno è pronta ad abbracciare un'altra grande manifestazione sportiva: si tratta del Beach Games. Questa volta però a ospitare gli atleti sarà la spiaggia di Santa Teresa che vedrà scendere in campo gli uomini e le donne Erasmus di Salerno. Tra gli sporti disponibili Beach Volley e Beach Soccer.

Inoltre durante il nostro evento sarà promosso il programma ExchangeAbility. Andare a studiare all’estero rappresenta una vera e propria sfida per i giovani, che si trovano a dover far fronte ad un ambiente non familiare, una nuova lingua ed una diversa cultura, solo per chiamare in causa alcuni degli aspetti. Tutto questo può essere ancora più difficile per uno studente disabile, che potrebbe trovarsi di fronte ad ambienti inaccessibili o addirittura fenomeni di discriminazione legati agli stereotipi.
Proprio a partire dal riconoscimento di questa sfida, ESN ha deciso di sviluppare il progetto ExchangeAbility, cercando di creare le condizioni e le opportunità per gli studenti disabili di poter partecipare attivamente alla vita studentesca sia a casa che all’estero.
Tramite Giochi e dimostrazioni promuoveremo tra erasmus e non che esiste la possibilità di partecipare al progetto Erasmus anche con disabilità.

Il Beach Games è un’occasione importante per dimostrare un’attenzione non episodica per la valorizzazione dello sport amatoriale. E guardando al nuovo volto del Lungomare dopo i lavori di riqualificazione recentemente completati “l'idea è quella di fare della manifestazione del prossimo fine settimana un appuntamento fisso per il futuro”.

ESN Salerno is ready to embrace another big sport event: it’s the Beach Games. This time the athletes will be hosted at Santa Teresa beach, where Erasmus men and women of Salerno will take the field. Beach Volley and Beach Soccer are amongst the available sports.

Moreover, during the event, the “ExchangeAbility” project will be promoted. Studying abroad represents a real challenge for young students. They have deal with a non-familiar surrounding, a new language and a different culture, just to mention some aspects of the experience. All this can be more difficult for a special needs student, who could have to face inaccessible environments or even discriminations.
Starting from this challenge, ESN decided to develop the “ExchangeAbility” project, trying to create the proper conditions and opportunities for special needs students to actively take part in Student Life, in their home country as well as abroad.
On Saturday 08/10/2016 we will use games and activities to prove that taking part in Erasmus project is actually possible, even with disability.

Beach Games is an important occasion to show a real attention to amateur sport. Also, looking at how the boardwalk appears now, after the work that’s recently been done to improve it, the idea is “to make the event a standing appointment for the future”.
